How to Use your Computer as a FREE TIVO?

Ok I will tell you how to make your computer into a free Tivo.. What the heck is that you say? It's something that will let you download tv shows and watch them when ever you like. DISCLAIMER: CHECK YOUR LOCAL AND STATE LAWS BEFORE YOU DOWNLOAD TV SHOWS IT MAY BE ILLEGAL WHERE YOU ARE AT.

Ok now that I got that out of the way....

First you will need to download a program call MIRO this is available for the Mac, Pc, and Linux Machines. Once you are finished downloading this program and installed it, open it up... you will notice it KINDA sorta looks like ITunes.. from within the program you can go to Miro Guide and search for the free legal channels, also called Video podcasts. Add channels from the Miro guide that you would like to check out. But this is not everything you can also add tv shows that you like to watch. Now to do this you will have to go to a web site to get the rss feed... what is a rss feed? Just a fast description of what this is so I do not make you sleepy....hehe it is a link that point you to files or txt and updates when the page updates.. short enough? If you want to know all about rss Google it!

The web site you will need to go to is called tvrss from there you can search for your tv shows or look at everything via alphabetize. Now say you want to watch 1 Single (this will be the first show option when you click on the option in the top for shows) Click on 1 single you will see this from within this page you want to click on Search-based RSS Feed once you click on this it will bring you to this page and when you are in this
page you will want to copy the URL in the top of your browser.
Now that we have copied this url from the browser go back to MIRO and click on the top button that reads Channels, then click on add channel. From here PASTE that url that you just copied here. And there you go that is how you add channels to watch tv shows that you love. Also once the channel is added you can click click on the channel that you added and rename it.
